A little after school excursion

The sweetest thing (in my opinion) happened last night. Mr Uno offered to bring Ms Dos home from school and let her hang out with his friends.

Ms Dos: Mama, can I go home with gorgor tomorrow?
Mama: Sure, I’ll the the school bus uncle know you’re not taking the bus.
Ms Dos: Gorgor asked me just now if I wanted to go home with him. I asked if he will bring me to the place where he bought me a popsicle last time. He said he would, so of course I said “Yes!”

A little while later..

Mr Uno: The popsicles are just the tip of the iceberg ok? There are many more things you can buy from the mama shop and 7-11. Do you want pasta? The pasta is piping hot, you can heat it up in the microwave.
Ms Dos: No, I don’t want pasta.
Mr Uno: How about chips? My friend always buys the chips.
Ms Dos: Yes, I want chips!
Mr Uno: Ok, we can get that.

Later at night, after Ms K had fallen asleep..

Mr Uno: I am totally not going to spend $5.50 tomorrow.
Mama: What do you mean? Why do you need to spend so much?
Mr Uno: I’m getting the pasta and chips from 7-11.
Mama: Is that what you usually buy after school? Is that why you always come back not hungry for lunch?
Mr Uno: No, but tomorrow is a special day.
Mama: What special day?
Mr Uno: Ms K is coming along with us. Maybe I’ll get a slurpee too.
Mama: No slurpee, please.
Mr Uno: OK, just the pasta and chips.

Mr Uno often swings by 7-11 with his friends after school, which appears to be the typical highlight of his day, and it is very heartwarming to see Mr Uno take the initiative to engage his little sister, and bring her out to enjoy his fun little after-school excursions.

UPDATE:

The children came back from school very satisfied, Ms Dos was the only girl hanging out with Mr Uno’s friends, and they each had a pasta, some chips, ice sticks, and a bottle of Fanta each! I reminded Mr Uno that he is supposed to cut down on sweet drinks as he is already overweight (140cm, 51kg), but he insisted it was a special day >-<
